The needs are great, and none of us ever do great things. But we can do small things with great love, and together we can do something wonderful. -Mother Teresa
André Gide once said that our world will be saved by one or two caring people at a time. Some of the most meaningful and important things you will ever do as a couple will be the thoughtful things you do for others.
It can be as simple as taking turns visiting with a lonely neighbor, or as grand Gourmet cooking? Music? Why not create a small, medium or large annual scholarship in your name, and give it to a deserving student who shares your passion too?
Or, you could…
Spend a weekend with Habitat for Humanity, building a house for a needy family.
Tutor a child or help coach a youth team in an after-school program, or on weekends.
Volunteer on night a week at a soup kitchen, hospital or animal center.
Volunteer at a senior center to play games, teach crafts, or just sit and talk with a lonely elder.
Wash the dishes, do the shopping, or watch the kids for and evening, so your partner can have a free night to volunteer.
Together we can do something wonderful…
Write down a few ways we will make a difference in our neighborhood, community, or world.
